FIRST ANNUAL
FRED MADERE - FAMILY FISHING TOURNAMENT
Open to all members of the Cooper Estates Boat Landing - A family affair
SCHEDULE - September 30 through Sunday October 3rd
Thursday – September 30 - Captains Meeting at the boat landing 6:30 Adult Beverages Served – This is your opportunity to eyeball the competition and relearn the rules.
Friday October 1st – Dawn to Dusk Fishing Weigh In 3pm to 5 Pm
Saturday October 2nd – Dawn to Dusk Fishing Weigh In 3PM-5PM
(If you don’t make the weigh ins, we still need your fish)
Sunday October 3rd – 2PM - Participant FAMILY FISH FRY and Potluck dinner. It is the responsibility of all participants NOT to make this a Pot Luck dinner only. A person can only eat so much potato salad.
FEE - $40 per motor boat – $20 per non-motor boat – canoes, kayaks etc.
No limit on number of anglers in each boat.
Winning skipper will receive half of proceeds to divvy up among the crew as he/she sees fit. The other half will be retained in the general fund and earmarked for dock repair.
Prizes awarded on Sunday October 3rd.
Hopefully we won’t have to use any of the proceeds to buy fish or worse hot dogs.
RULES - Prize for the biggest fish in of the inshore categories – Spot Tails, Trout and Flounder. Also prize for biggest overall fish.
Only members of the Boat Landing are eligible. Members may invite guests to fish on your boat and attend ceremonies.
Eligible Fish – Spot Tails, Trout, Flounder, Kings, Spanish, Sheephead, Sea Bass, Stripped Bass, Drum, Cobia, Blue Fish
Weigh Ins between 3PM and 5 PM Friday and Saturday
ONLY FISH IN LEGAL SLOTS WILL COUNT – The 45 inch Spot Tail you release will not count
No technique limitations. You bring it. We weigh it. We all eat it.
(Do not tell the DNR guy that Dan or Jim Said it was OK to use dynamite)
All anglers are responsible for cleaning their fish. If you are an absolute butcher let us know. If you have a special skill and love to fillet fish we would also like to know.
Jim needs volunteers to help with weigh ins and fish fry - Kids after school for weigh ins would be great.

There will be extreme pressure to perform. What we catch is what we eat. OUR OVERALL OBJECTIVE SHOULD BE TO CATCH ENOUGH FOR ALL TO EAT.
Use the remainder of the summer to practice.
DON’T LET YOUR FAMILIES DOWN. THEY WILL BE DEPENDING ON YOU.
